Aaron Shepley
The largest city in McHenry County has had a pretty stable city council since it was increased from five to seven members.
Mayor Aaron Shepley informed me yesterday that he is running for re-election.
He was first elected in April of 1999.
Shepley reports having almost $7,900 in his campaign fund.
So Shepley been in office for for 15 years – what has happened to Crystal Lake during these years.
Can we seen an improvement in companies location to the city and employment growth – I would say not so much.
I couple of car dealerships has filled some of the gaping wholes in the strip malls along #14 but not much else.
What else has he been doing to attract business to CL?
It has be said that lawyers like accountants typically are looking backwards and studying what happened before rather than have innovative and creative thinking.
Why not look at people like scientists, engineers, technocrats, educators or internet savvy people, who have visions toward the future rather than rehashing old stale ideas.
Just a thought.
