District 155 Imposes “Soft Lockdown” Because of Holiday Hills Shooter

The following message was delivered by robo-call from Crystal Lake District 155 Superintendent Johnnie Thomas:

Code Yellow Lockdown – 10/16/14

As you may be aware, there was a shooting this morning in nearby Holiday Hills, and the suspect is still at large.

While we do not believe our students are in any danger, as a precaution, we are putting all of our schools on a code yellow lockdown.

This means that students will be allowed to move between classes, but will not be allowed to exit the building for lunch or other activities.

Students returning from 6th hour lunch will be allowed back into the building to resume their day.

We are working with the local police departments to ensure the safety of our campuses and to determine when we can appropriately lift this soft lockdown.

Should an update be necessary later in the day, we will utilize the automated phone system, our website, and Twitter to deliver the message.
