In addition, he visited UniCarriers Americas Corporation in Marengo which manufactures a complete line of forklifts including the Nissan Forklift.

“Every time I visit one of the many flourishing manufacturers in the 14th District, I am amazed by the innovation and expansion that’s taking place right here in Illinois. We must continue to support our manufacturers and their ability to expand and hire more workers through smart legislation and regional initiatives,” said Rep. Hultgren. “The worst thing we can do right now is pass more inefficient, ineffective and duplicative regulations and taxes that hurt Illinois businesses and job growth.”

Congressman Hultgren has supported several initiatives and legislation to benefit Illinois manufacturers:

  • American Renaissance in Manufacturing (ARM) Act, H.R. 5360, a wide-ranging legislative package which levels the playing field for American manufacturers who engage in the global marketplace, including reducing frivolous lawsuits, reigning in red tape, and opening up energy exploration to lower transportation costs. Rep. Hultgren cosponsored the bill.
  • America’s Small Business Tax Relief Act, H.R. 4457, allows businesses to deduct expenses such as investing in new equipment. Rep. Hultgren supported House passage.
  • Modernizing American Manufacturing Bonds Act (MAMBA) of 2014, H.R. 5319, updates the three decades-old rules governing manufacturing bonds to help manufacturers expand, invest in new equipment and hire more workers. Rep. Hultgren introduced the bill.
  • Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act or SKILLS Act, H.R. 803, reforms federal workforce development services and help workers acquire the skills and education they need to succeed in today’s economy. Rep. Hultgren supported House passage.
  • The Chicago-based Digital Lab for Manufacturing (Digital Lab) is an applied research institute will both develop and demonstrate digital manufacturing technologies and deploy and commercialize these technologies across key manufacturing industries in Illinois and around the country. Rep. Hultgren joined the Illinois delegation in sending a letter to Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel in support of the federal grant.

  1. Every time I see this character, reminds me of the bone crushing tax increases he was part of, as a DuPage Board Member.

Probably became a Rep. because he figured he could do more damage this way.

  2. He’s a RINO faker …. to the max!

he pulls these charades every election cycle ………

Walsh should be in his seat!

  3. Hultgren was on the DuPage County Board from 1994 – 1998 during which PTELL was in effect.

In incorporated DuPage depending on the taxing districts, county taxes including the Health Dept & Pensions might be say 3% of the tax bill, with schools being say 65%.

Unincorporated areas might have the county as a larger percentage of the tax bill.

Pay and benefit hikes by local school districts and the state for school spending, and the unfunded state liabilities for school pensions and retiree healthcare, and the local bond debt service by local school district, costs taxpayers exponentially more than spending at the county level.

VoteSmart records Americans for Prosperity rankings for candidates and Hultgren depending on the year and issues ranks about 75% or higher.

Hultgren is pretty conservative, he’ll talk to you at town halls and such, he’s smart, level headed, and respectful.

With that said neither Hultgren or any politician has done enough to reign in the generally out of control spending and accountability in public education including higher education.

  4. I will take Hultgren over Walsh any day.

Since Walsh is promoting Libertarian candidates here in Illinois on his radio show.

Guess what the Libertarian party is being funded by the Democrats and unions.

Walsh should know this, so why is he promoting them?

    Makes you wonder.

It also makes you wonder why there is a Libertarian candidate in every category, yet no Green party this time around.

Things that make you go hmmmmm…..
