To the far right are District 5 Republicans John Jung and Michael Rein. Democrat Paula Yensen did not attend the forum. She was attending a 708 Board meeting.
Saturday’s Northwest Herald rolled out its other endorsements in four contested McHenry County Board districts.
- John Hammerand (R-Wonder Lake, incumbent)
- Chuck Wheeler (R-McHenry, newcomer)
Left out was Crystal Lake South auto mechanics teacher and teacher union official Arne Waltmire, Democrat from McHenry.
In District 5, which runs from Woodstock through Huntley and western Lake in the Hills, the newcomer was also left of the endorsement list.
Endorsed were
- John Jung (R-Bull Valley, incumbent)
- Paula Yensen (D-Lake in the Hills, incumbent)
Missing out on a nod from the NWH was Woodstock’s Michael Rein.
