The Problem with Newspaper Endorsements

Thirty-three months ago the Chicago Sun-Times stopped endorsing candidates.


It could have been the enormous amount of time it takes to cover candidates throughout the metropolitan area.

Or it could have been the reason stated by the Sun-Times:

“…we had come to believe they feed a perception of a hidden bias throughout a newspaper.”

Newspapers wouldn’t promote the campaigns of candidates they endorse on their news pages, would they?
