Zebra NWH Subscription pitch 10-14This Northwest Herald insert in papers that have been given away brought back the memory of staying in Disney World this summer.

We stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Outside were enclosures where various animals were enclosed in fences for rehabilitation, breeding or just being too friendly to the truck loads of visitors in Animal Kingdom’s ride.

My wife bought me a ride through the enclosures where I got a decent photo of a zebra.

My zebra isn’t laughing.

He or she is just looking.

"I'm looking at you," this zebra seems to be saying.

“I’m looking at you,” this zebra seems to be saying.


A wonderful meal went with the tour where I sat with a family from suburan Atlanta, Georgia.

Virtually every function has been privatized in their suburb.

No public pension tail for its taxpayers.

The wife worked for the parks and recreation contractor.

When they found out I was a retired politician they wanted to know if the Republicans would take control of the U.S. Senate.

They said they didn’t like either of the candidates for U.S. Senate on the ballot.

I told them it depended on whether they were “willing to hold their noses and vote Republican or not.”
