Since the McHenry County Conservation District Trustees are not elected, rather appointed by the McHenry County Board, the only voter recourse against passage of unfavorable state legislation allowing the Conservation District to issue non-referendum bonds, is to vote your County Board Member out of office.

    There are six County Board Districts, each having 4 Board Members.

    So did the McHenry County Board’s Legislative Committee support the McHenry County Conservation District’s desire to change state legislation to allow the Conservation district to issue non-referendum bonds?

    Did lobbyists paid by the McHenry County Board or the McHenry County Conservation District lobby legislators in support of changing state law to allow the McHenry County Conservation District to issue non-referendum bonds?

    It is incredible citizens put up with non-referendum bonds.

    What percentage of taxpayers and voters know taxing districts can issue non-referendum bonds?

    What percentage of taxpayers think its a problem for taxing districts to issue non-referendum bonds?
