An invitation for Algonquin School District 300:
Community Invited to D300 Legislative Forum on February 23 at Jacobs High School Community Unit School District 300’s Board Community Engagement Committee will host The District 300 Legislative Forum at Jacobs High School on Monday, February 23at 6:30pm.
The District 300 Legislative Forum features a panel of local legislators and District 300 administrators who will discuss the latest legislative issues impacting education and take questions from the audience.
The following legislators are scheduled to participate on the panel:
- Illinois State Senator Karen McConnaughay
- Illinois State Senator Michael Noland
- Illinois State Representative David McSweeney
- Illinois State Representative Anna Moeller
- Illinois State Representative Robert Pritchard
- Illinois State Representative Michael Tryon
All District 300 parents, staff, students, community members and local media are welcome to attend.
“The Legislative Forum enhances the power of our collective voice, the students, parents, elected officials and staff,” says Steve Fiorentino, District 300 Board of Education member and Chairman of the newly formed Community Engagement Committee.
“This is what makes our advocacy powerful. The Legislative Forum is one tool to make our voices heard to improve our schools and our educational system as a whole.”
A casual reception begins at 6:30 pm where attendees can enjoy food while visiting with the state legislators who represent the D300 community. The Legislative Forum begins at 7pm inside the Jacobs High School Auditorium.
