A press release from Governor Bruce Rauner:
Statement on unions filing lawsuit against Executive Order on fair share dues
Statement attributable to Lance Trover, Director of Communications, Office of the Governor:
“We always expected the government union bosses to fight to keep their stranglehold over Illinois taxpayers in place.
“These forced union dues are a critical cog in the corrupt bargain that is crushing taxpayers, and the government unions will do anything to keep the broken status quo.”
Keep fighting the good fight Governor
Another executive’s response to the shrieking over an executive order:
“We always expected the hypocritical xenophobes to fight to keep the present system of deportation in place.
“These forced deportations are a critical cog in the corrupt bargain between the use of cheap labor and those among us who enjoy the economic benefits of that cheap labor, and some will do anything to keep the broken status quo.”
In other words, folks love executive overreaching when it supports their own agenda, and cry constitutional foul when it does not.
