DuPage State Rep. Campaigns for Slate of Junior College Candidates

Somehow I got on State Rep. Peter Breen’s email list.

Today, election eve, he sent out an email from his political account that endorsed a slate of candidates for the College of DuPage, the junior college there that can’t seem to shoot straight.

Here is his missive:

Tomorrow is election day for local voters in Illinois. In DuPage County, there’s a hot election on for the College of DuPage Board of Trustees. The Board majority has misspent millions of taxpayer dollars and disgraced a fine educational institution: an Breen head tilted right looking at cameraexcellent community college that provides an opportunity for students of all ages to obtain an affordable education.

You may have seen in the news that there’s only one good reformer on that Board, Kathy Hamilton. She’s been covered nationally for her efforts to shine a light on the problems with the Board.

Well, tomorrow, folks in DuPage County finally get the chance for some “Spring cleaning” on that Board, with three of the seven seats up for election. Kathy Hamilton has endorsed the “Clean Slate” of Charles Bernstein, Frank Napolitano, and Deanne Mazzochi to join her to reform the College’s Board of Trustees. They are conveniently located at ballot spots 6, 7, & 8. I’m supporting the Clean Slate, too.

The easy way to remember where they are on the ballot is the jingle, “Clean Slate, 6, 7, 8.”

With Kathy, plus these three serious and substantive reformers, they’ll make a four-person majority on that seven-person Board. I’d really appreciate your support for the “Clean Slate, 6, 7, 8”!
