State Rep. Jack Franks and Woodstock Mayor Brian Sager, a member of Franks’ fundraising “Host Committee,” met with Governor Bruce Rauner in Woodstock when he was in town to brief the Woodstock City Council and McHenry County Board on his Turnaround Agenda.
That does not seem to have been the topic of the Franks’ talk with the Governor, however, since Franks receives regular contributions from labor unions.
Franks’ press release, including the photo opportunity, can be found below:
Franks Hosts Governor in McHenry County
WOODSTOCK, Ill. – State Rep. Jack D. Franks, D-Marengo, welcomed Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner to Woodstock on Wednesday, April 8, to discuss Franks’ work on Rauner’s Local Government Consolidation and Unfunded Mandate Task Force and the importance of providing suburban residents with property tax relief.
Franks then joined Rauner on a visit to Johnsburg High School to meet with students studying government.“McHenry County is the only collar county to have seen a decrease in population during the last five years and the property tax burden is what’s driving people out,” Franks said.
“Consolidating or eliminating unnecessary units of local government will bring relief to taxpayers and having a governor who is focused on this issue will be a big help in making progress for local residents
