Franks Attacks Rauner

After making such a big deal about “hosting” Governor Bruce Rauner on his visit to McHenry County, Democratic Party State Rep. Jack Franks took on the role of attack dog last week on the House floor.

Some might think he was trying to impress fellow Democrats.

But wouldn’t that mean he was playing both sides against the middle?

Maybe Franks was just trying to make nice-nice with House Speaker Mike Madigan, whose millionaires’ tax he refused to support.

The floor speech gained him a staring role in a Saturday Chicago Sun-Times article:

"Tick tock, people," said Rep. Jack Franks. "Tick tock. And if the governor is listening: please file your bills. Please. File. Your. Bills. We would like to discuss them. We can't negotiate with something that isn't in written form. At lease now we have something in written form."
