State Rep. David McSweeney was conversing with newly-elected Lakewood Village Board member Paul Serwatka and West Dundee Village Board member Dan Wilbrandt at the post-election party thrown by Algonquin Township Republicans.

West Dundee Township Village Trustee Dan Wilbrandt has announced his candidacy for State Representative in the McHenry-Kane County district represented by State Rep. Mike Tryon.

He didn’t do it with a press release.

The information appears in a filing for his campaign committee, Citizens for Dan Wilbrandt.

Not once, but twice.

This part of the form states that Dan Wilbrandt is running in the district now served by State Rep. Mike Tryon.

Tryon, however, has announced he is running for re-election.

That’s what he said on May 20th.

Wilbrandt, who is an Assistant State’s Attorney in McHenry County and whose family has pretty deep roots in the Crystal Lake area, has been attending political events in McHenry County.

    State Rep Tryon has built himself a nice pension, so he will be just fine.

    Every vote for tax increases had his name on it.
