30-35 Attend Ethics Briefing — 8 Comments

  1. Ethics – politicians?

Even the Supreme Court has ruled that politicians are allowed to lie!

It is a rarity to encounter a totally honest politician who will consistently refuse to compromise their principles.

  2. This was a good faith effort toward reform in McHenry County Government.

More people should have been there. I would have liked to have attended, but the middle of the week meeting is a bit of a challenge.

Hope, they schedule another one. The people need to be engaged and informed.

  3. Con – you said a mouthful there!

Truth and Principles are two most unwelcome attributes in the political spectrum.

  4. Were you aware the Constitutional Convention, the big one – the one that created the Constitution of the United States of America – was a CLOSED Convention?

This notion that EVERYTHING in government has to be “open” to the people is naive and stupid.

Most governmental and legislative issues should obviously be open to the people.

But to suggest EVERYTHING should be an open book is a FAILED idea.

Thank goodness our Founding Fathers weren’t all hooked on this “everything has to be open” BS.

  5. Hey Skeptic!

When the Convention was held, the residents of this country had a more moral foundation.

Just like the saying: A moral person will awake and say “Good morning, God!”

What is mostly heard anymore is “Good God! Morning!”

  6. Skeptic has a valid point.

SOME stuff needs to remain quiet.

The people hire politicians to do their bidding.

If those people don’t, vote them out. WE,THE PEOPLE allowed our State to screw us over by re-electing the same people over and over who raped our finances.

WE,THE PEOPLE got exactly what we deserved.

You only have to look at our pension funds that they’ve constantly “borrowed” from for BS projects.

WE THE PEOPLE are too stupid to know everything, but should at least pay attention.
