Addresses of Political Action Committees sometimes aren’t in the same town as their candidates.

Lake County Board member Nick Sauer, for instance, has his PAC’s address in Fox River Grove.

He had an active fundraising spring, adding $17,715 to the $28,732.68 he started with.

Sauer spent $5,361.67 during the three months,$1,008 of which was for a McGonigal’s Irish Pub fundraiser.

He also made the following identified (over $150) more political expenditures:

  • $1,000 – Bruce Rauner Transition Committee
  • $825 – Citizens for a Strong North Barrington
  • $320 – Wauconda Township Republican Club
  • $250 – Lake County Republican Federation Gala
  • $200 – Friends of Steve Carlson
  • $180 -Lake County Right to Life

Both David McSweeney and Aaron Lawlor contributed $250 to Friends of Nick Sauer.

Most of the contributors of $150 or more were from the Barrington area or in the rest of Lake County, although some were from Chicago.

Albert R. Pino, Ltd. of McHenry, however, did give $250.

Sauer has been appointed to the Illinois Tollway Authority Board by Governor Bruce Rauner.
