Got this email from Lake in the Hills Trustee Denise W. Barreto this week.
Since she is moving on, I thought you might be interested in what she has to say:
Wanted to drop you a line to tell you directly what you may or may not have heard in the last week since I announced it.
Effective July 31, 2015, I will no longer be serving on the Village Board of Trustees for the The Village of Lake in the Hills.
My family and I excited to move to Evanston, IL, a place we believe will be a better overall lifestyle fit us.
Because of our relationship, I wanted to reach out and thank you for your fair treatment of me over my time as an elected official.
Considering how ugly the partisan politics are in our county, you have treated an “outsider” like me very fairly and I appreciate that.
I am very proud of my service to Lake in the Hills and while I am sad to disappoint the voters who entrusted me with the second term, I am very excited about the implications of my resignation.
As you know, I have built a successful consulting practice and 69% of my clients are local government agencies such as park districts and municipalities throughout Northern Cook, Lake, Kane and Winnebago Counties.
With my move and resignation, my influence on local policy making will expand even greater and who knows, maybe some of the folks in McHenry county will wake up and hire me now.
Anyhow – have a great holiday and please call me if you have any questions or would like to say goodbye. I’d have called you but I don’t have a number. My number is (708) 917-7696
