Word for the Lakewood Village Hall:
Petitions/forms for anyone interested in opposing the creation of a new special service area for the care and maintenance of the Turnberry Lakes are available at the Village Hall.
Gaining enough signatures is a daunting task.
It is two-pronged:
- 51% or the registered voters AND
- 51% of the property owners

Village Administrator explains the rest of the process:
The Public Hearing for SSA #8 is scheduled for September 22.
The sixty (60) day objection period begins the next day (September 23).
Therefore, the objection period ends on November 21.
The Board of Trustees is scheduled to consider the ordinance creating the SSA on November 24.
