Former McHenry County Board member, Algonquin Township Clerk and unsuccessful candidate for Algonquin Township Supervisor is stepping down from his $15,000 a year Metra Board seat as of the end of August.

He was appointed a little over a year ago.

A lack of sufficient time to fulfill the duties of the office seems to be the reason for the resignation.

The McHenry County Board is seeking applicants to replace him, as you can see from the following press release:

The McHenry County Board is accepting applications from individuals interested in appointment to serve on the Board of Directors of the REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY COMMUTER RAIL BOARD (METRA).

One position is available for a term expiring on June 30, 2018. Application forms are available at the County Board Office, Room 209, McHenry County Government Center, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock, IL 60098 (815-334-4221) or at the County’s website at http://www.co.mchenry.il.us/home/showdocument?id=12290.pdf.

Applicants are requested to submit their resume with their application. Completed applications should be returned to the County Board office no later than 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2014.
