School District 300 on Soft Lock down

Please be advised that District 300 is on lock down due to an incident that occurred in Crystal Lake.

Lake in the Hills Police Department is taking precautionary measures with police presence at the schools and drop off areas in Lake in the Hills Police Jurisdiction.

Soft Lockdown in Place at Crystal Lake South High School

A soft lockdown is in place at Crystal Lake South High School. Crystal Lake Police are investigating an off-campus incident. This is a precautionary measure. During a soft lockdown, students move between classes, but no one will be allowed to enter or exit the building.

We will continue to work closely with the Crystal Lake Police Department and our school resource officers as their investigation continues. We will inform you once the soft lockdown is lifted.

Update: ​Students on bus route 501 (all stops), bus route 500 (two stops at Alexandra and Shelton; Shelton and Stockton), and bus route 502 (Village and Ashford; Ashford and Hartford) were kept after school while police continue to investigate in that area.
