As I was leaving the grounds after eating a brat, I saw this poodle on the back of a motorcycle. How could I resist taking a photo of it. The owner was wearing an Anchor Towing tee shirt.
I attend McHenry County parades because politicians use them to try to gain name identification and support.
Sunday I was at Johnsburg’s Saufen und Spiel Parade.
The parade route was a long one.
It went from the Village Hall down the main road and disbursed near the St. John’s Church.

Ron Hiller was the Parade Marshall, but his name was not on the side of the car. Wife Sandy joined him.
I didn’t even have a problem finding shade.
I wasn’t quite ready when the flags went by.
Next came the Veterans, fire trucks and other emergency vehicles.
Both Johnsburg’s Police Chief Keith Van Allmen and McHenry Township Fire Protection District Chief Tony Huemann worked for Lakewood before moving on to better posts.
Elected village officials came next.
Each was in a Ford Thunderbird.
That was so much better than their all riding in the back of a big dump truck as the village officials did one year.
The Village officials were waving.
Candy was being thrown.
Pretty much everyone was wearing sunglasses.
After the elected Village officials came some of the appointed ones.

More tomorrow.
How nice to see a vehicle from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department in a parade without that goof Zinke inside of it, giving you the finger!
LOL Good riddance to that nonsense.
Good coverage of the parade, Cal.
The Ford Thunderbirds were courtesy of the Classic Thunderbird Club of Chicagoland.
