Andersson Holding ID Theft Seminar Friday

A press release from State Rep. Steve Andersson:

Andersson to Host ID Theft Seminar

State Representative Steve Andersson (R-Geneva) will be hosting an Identity Theft Seminar next week at the Huntley Public Library.  The event is geared toward senior citizens, as these are the most at risk for identity theft, exploitation and fraud due to their ability to access retirement accounts and pensions.  However, any interested residents are welcome to attend.

The seminar will be an educational program, and will feature an identity theft expert from the Illinois Attorney General’s office who will teach senior citizens how to protect their personal information from scammers, and the proper steps to take if your identity has been stolen.

The goal of this event is to educate seniors, and help them best protect themselves from con artists and deceptive business schemes.

“This program will help make sure our seniors, and any member of our community is protected and not taken advantage of,” said Andersson.  “Sadly, there are scam-artists out there who are preying on the elderly, and the most vulnerable in our society.  It is important to educate ourselves and be proactive against these types of people, and be aware of any scams happening in our community.”

The hour long program is set for Friday September 18th at the Huntley Public Library, 11000 Ruth Road, Huntley, IL and will be begin at 10:00am. The event is free and open to the public, but requires registration with Representative Andersson’s district office.  To register for the event, please call (630) 457-5460 or visit his website at www.repandersson.com.
