“As a proud supporter of our military men and women and their families, I am honored to receive this recognition,” said Sen. Althoff.

“Senate Bill 1457 is a great step forward in helping our military members achieve academic success.”

Under Senate Bill 1457, the Military Prior Learning Assessment Task Force is charged with studying and making recommendations on how best to enforce recognition of military learning for

  • academic credit
  • industry recognized credentials
  • college degrees

This law goes into effect immediately and requires the task force to report its findings and recommendations on or before December 1, 2016.

“It is always an honor to support policies like Senate Bill 1457 that will positively improve the quality of life of our men and women in uniform,” said Sen. Althoff. “I will continue to be an advocate and voice for military personnel and their families in Illinois.”
