Sheriff’s Office Investigates Motorcycle Traffic Crash – October 3rd

A 47-year-old Island Lake man was hospitalized in stable condition Saturday night after being transported by ambulance from the scene of a one-vehicle crash in the 3300 block of Wright Road in unincorporated Prairie Grove.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of the Harley Davidson, Todd M. Murray, 47, was operating a 1982 Harley Davidson and was traveling northbound on Wright Road at 10:32 p.m. when for unknown reasons the motorcycle exited the roadway and struck a culvert.

Todd was transported to the Centegra Hospital-McHenry by Nunda Rescue.

An investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Traffic Crash Investigations Unit. Members of the Nunda Fire Protection District, and the Prairie Grove Police Department also assisted at the scene.

The driver was not wearing a helmet and alcohol is believed to be a factor of the crash.
