With four people running to replace State Rep. Mike Tryon, let’s look at campaign finance filings today.
The deadline is not until the 15th of October, so consider this a “sneak peek.”

Carolyn Schofield has not yet filed her report.

But she has reported a $1,000 contribution from the company run by fellow McHenry County Board member Mike Skala.

Lakewood Village Trustee Paul Serwatka has not filed either.

The only information is the $100,000 that he gave his campaign fund.

Likewise East Dundee Village Trustee Allen Skillicorn has not filed his D-2 yet

He does report a September 30th contribution of $2,300 from Car Smart Automotive of East Dundee.

That, added to the $15,352.53 he reporting having at the end of June, plus the $2,300 from campaign consultant Drew Venneman, would put him at about $20,000…minus expenditures during the third quarter.

Dan Wilbrandt, the fourth candidate, reported getting $35,000 in the second quarter.

He has received $1,000 each from Joseph Kaltwasser of Geneva and Richard Willrett of West Dundee, plus $2,000 from Emily Tjeerdsma of Chicago.

Total receipts from big givers would be $39,000.

Again, expenditures will have to be show in the report due in two days.

McHenry County Blog will revisit the financial side of the campaign after the deadline.
