One of two bands from Aurora, Marion-Rosary was the second to entertain the crowd. Note I was not the only one taking photos.

You can see the problem I had getting good images in this part-shade, part-sunny photo of the Genoa-Kingston High School Band.
My battery was running low, so I limited my picture taking to try to make sure I got all of the politicians.
The theme of the parade was “There’s nothing like home.”
A still picture of this young man’s simulation of the tornado from the Wizard of Oz cannot him justice. He was twirling throughout the parade marching next to the Zion Lutheran School float.
The Genoa-Kingston High School Band was the third marching and entered in the post-parade contest.
The Tinman and Dorothy rode on the Zion Lutheran School float.
Among the most interesting reminder of the Wizard of Oz were the attempts to show the tornado.
Harvard sent a Milk Day Float.

Milk Day and Settlers’ Days bracket the parade season in McHenry County

Judge James Cowlin’s parade entry from afar.
Then, I spotted another politician–Judge James Cowlin, appointed to fill Judge Gordon Graham’s seat and running for a six-year term.

His supporters were handing out cars with his name and web site on it. Former Algonquin Township Republican Party Chairwoman Rebecca Lee wanted to make sure I got one. I told her someone else had handed it to me.
Captain Jack Sparrow looks as if he is being chased by the Culver’s custard cone.
An excellent Jack Sparrow imitator was again in the parade.

On another note…those “Wizard of Oz” themes are weirding me out now that so much has come out about that movie being used as triggers for MK Ultra programing.
