Allen Skillicorn, one of four candidates to replace retiring State Rep. Mike Tryon, used the back room of Crystal Lake’s Nick’s Pizza as a staging area for those who wanted to have their petitions notarized.

The crowd was mainly from Kane County, but McHenry County Treasurer Glenda Miller and her husband stopped by on their way to Kohl’s, as did Tea Party Republican Precinct Committeeman Rita Heuel.

There may have been others from McHenry County who came before I did or after I left.

Dr. Robert Taballi, who ran unsuccessfully in the Republican Primary for Kane County Coroner in 2012, is back for a second try.

Now, he touts not only his MD in iinfectious diseases from the University of Michigan, but also a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the same university.

He told me that the man who son the race has been over budget each year since taking office.

There has been controversy between the County Board and the Coroner not seen in McHenry County.
