The legal publication that helps keep newspapers alive appeared this week for Nunda Township properties.
Assessments for Algonquin and Grafton Townships–the largest in McHenry County–have not yet been published.
Appeal forms and other information can be found here.
At the last County Board meeting Chairman Joe Gottemoller announced his assessment had increased 28%, which he said showed he was not receiving favorable treatment.
We, the taxpayers, need to put an end to the posting of assessments, annual financial reports and ‘black’ box ads in newspapers.
Very few people read them.
Insofar as assessments, EVERY property owner is mailed a notice.
Mr. Walkup frequently refers to Townships as being archaic why is he not pushing for this archaic tax reducing change instead of pushing for Township Consolidation which will increase taxes?
BTW I wonder where Walkup plans to move to? Is he leaving the State?
