County Defense Costs on Milliman Wrongful Termination Case Mounting

Scott Milliman

Scott Milliman

Former Deputy Sheriff Scott Milliman filed a wrongful termination suit against the Keith Nygren Sheriff’s regime.

The lawyer’s fees started for McHenry County in August, 2011.

They have been getting higher every month.

Most of the legal fees have gone to James Sotos.

The total is over $307,000 now.

The deductible is $250,000, meaning the county pays nothing after the $250,000 has been paid by the taxpayers.

Presumably Milliman’s lawyer’s fees have climbed into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

If Milliman wins his case, County taxpayers will pick up that cost, too.

  1. One of the reasons Lawyers run for political office.

Once in office they are in position to pass legislation which is beneficial to the Attorney Lobby.

Just take a look at the property assessment law in the State.

Township Assessors are forced to use a rolling three year average of home sales to value property.

BUT, if you appeal your assessment (most people use a attorney) CURRENT year sales ONLY may be used to value your property.

Just look at the McHenry County UDO which was ushered through under the guidance of lawyer Joe Gottemoller.

Was it made as confusing as it is to cause most people to hire a lawyer to navigate it?

Gottemoller is running for County Board Chair.

I also believe another attorney, Mike Walkup, is running for Chair – he appears to specialize in Disability insurance.

Mary McClellan is an attorney who was elected as County Clerk.

What was one of her first actions?

    She hired her husband.

  2. I can’t wait to hear what the now ‘retired’ Rockford FBI SAC/SA has to saw for himself!!

This will all be very enlightening to all involved.

These guys used to like to meet with some of us in cars… or, in homes with our kids present.

Keep up the pressure Scott, one of these days the ENTIRE truth will come out…..but you and Zane and I already know don’t we!!

Interesting how some very high profile FBI Agents such as Casey Solana, Bob Grant, then U.S. Attorney Fitzgerald all suddenly retired when da’ boys starting placing forth very detailed accounts of what all went down in Nygren town.

    Be well friend.

    Dave

  3. CORRECTION – the INSURANCE pays everything over the 250,000.

Pete Austin, Sue Drafkorn really do not care if this goes on forever.

I am sure Cal will be correcting this typo soon.

  4. I am looking to vote for new County Board Members and passing the word whenever I can about the waste of time and money in this case…over 5 years and it could have been settled a long time ago.

Scott is doing a lot of good for a lot of us regarding this case and he has to stay strong for himself and his family.
