Empty Republican Precincts

With those backing incumbent Republican Party Chairman Sandra Salgado and those backing the man she beat last year–Mark Daniel–both seeking to find people to run for Precinct Committeeman, I thought it might be interesting to look at how successful they were at recruiting candidates.

Here are the number of precincts with no candidates in each township:

  • Alden Township – 0 out of 1
  • Algonquin Township – 29 out of 68
  • Burton – 2 out of 4
  • Chemung – 2 out of 5
  • Coral – 3 out of 3
  • Dorr – 2 out of 14
  • Dunham – 0 out of 1
  • Grafton – 11 out of 31
  • Greenwood – 1 out of 7
  • Hartland – 1 out of 2
  • Hebron – 2 out of 2
  • Marengo – 0 out of 4
  • McHenry – 6 out of 35
  • Nunda – 8 out of 29
  • Richmond – 0 out of 4
  • Riley – 0 out of
  • Seneca – 1 out of 2

People could still run as write-in candidates.

Thursday, January 14 is the last day to file a notarized declaration of intent to be a write–in candidate. The office will be open until 5 PM.

Ten write-in votes would be needed to get elected.

If you decide to run, keep your name simple.
