Nuns’ Winery, Schoolm Nursing Home Request Suit Picked Up by AP

The Associated Press has picked up the Chicago Tribune story about the Fraternite of Notre Dame Federal lawsuit against McHenry County for refusing to allow zoning for expanding its facility in Coral Township.

Nuns gathered outside the County Administrative Building after the September 1st meeting. At tonight's 7 PM meeting, they will learn whether their proposal to expand services and commerce at their site in Coral Township will be approved or disapproved by the McHenry County Board.

The one I found was in the Washington Times.

  1. My guess is they will win their suit, like it or not, the big Media has it now and anything Lib is possible.

A very Merry Christmas to all.

  2. Will the nuns be sprinkling holy water on the chairs in the federal court room?

  3. While living in Mexico, the Fraternite of Our Lady of Guadalupe was located just blocks from my home.

They raised money by getting up early each and every day baking ‘butter cookies.’

My oh my what a treat that was for this gringo for each day they came to my home, cookies still nice and warm, and I paid them for the delicacy that was like Christmas every morn.

I may be reading the intent of this story incorrectly, but I take it as a way for the sisters to raise money.

Perhaps, a bakery would be in order?

What a treat this would be for those receiving such a wonderful gift and at the same time, a community project or volunteerism.

Just a thought, even if I am mis-reading the position of the story.

    Thank you.
