Hultgren on Obama’s Gun Control Efforts

A press release from Congressman Randy Hultgren:

Hultgren Responds to President’s Executive Actions on Guns

Washington, DC — U.S. Representative Randy Hultgren (IL-14) today released a statement following the President’s announcement on proposed executive actions regarding guns:

Hultgren looking right serious“Yet again, the President has resorted to a favorite tactic—political intimidation—to restrict liberty and further his agenda. The current definition of a gun dealer is reasonable and clearly delineates law-abiding Americans who sell guns for their livelihoods, and law-abiding Americans to whom guns are a hobby and a constitutional right.

“Changing that definition to an arbitrary threshold targets gun owners for increased government intrusion while doing nothing to stop gun violence.

“Americans shouldn’t have to bring their lawyer to a gun show, nor should they fear a knock at the door because they sold or traded legal firearms to their relatives or other gun collectors.

“We already know how the IRS has used its immense authority to abuse American citizens—there’s no reason the administration’s activists can be trusted with that power to enforce an arbitrary redefinition passed without the people’s representatives.

“The administration needs to rethink its plan.”

  1. Yep, Obama sees a rerun of Liberal Hollywood fantasyland film ‘American President’ and decides after 7 years of zero accomplishment, he’s going to “get the guns”.

Read that’s Hillarys fav film as well.

And Pol Pundits wonder why PC incorrect Trump is still packing em in.

People are sick of seven years of ‘the change’ President, who can’t bring himself to utter ISIS or the Muslim word for fear of offending.

  2. Polling shows that nearly 74 percent of National Rifle Association members “support requiring background checks for all gun sales.”
    — Lena Taylor on Thursday, March 12th, 2015 in a news release

Apparently Congressman Hultgren and most of the commenters on this blog are part of the 26% vocal minority.

  3. Polls are useless to anyone except those doing the polling.

If you still believe in what you are told, then there is no hope for you.

I was once a life long family member of NRA, but got out when they were infiltrated by liberals.

When I was a child it was a good organization.

    Not so much anymore.

  4. GOA is a MUCH better run origination, join them.

When will Obama release his college transcripts ?

He does claim to have the most “transparent” administration.

Liar, deceiver and hypocrite – and those are his better traits.

  5. Why has the republican congress underfunded the ATF.

If they believe laws should be enforced pay for the appropriate number of FBI agents to make laws compliant.

And by the way when the last congressional election happened the repubs said where are the jobs.

Well what have they done since their election.

  6. This is how stupid these people are:

(Taken from a NW Herald quote)…

“Durbin cited the 2,939 people shot in Chicago last year”…

    blah blah blah.

No laws they enact, no false flags they throw up – nothing is working for them but they keep trying the same old same old.

I guess the gun sales are really going to soar now that the diktator has spoken.

  7. Whackamole Please explain how the requirement that doctors determine whether or not I should have access to a gun has anything to do with a background check?

Karma: I usually dismiss anything you say but your comment above requires a response.

It is YOUR DOJ who is REFUSING to prosecute gun law violators!!!

Here is what YOUR Joe Biden said:

“regarding the lack of prosecutions on lying on Form 4473s, we simply don’t have the time or manpower to prosecute everybody who lies on a form, that checks a wrong box, that answers a question inaccurately.”

  8. “I believe in the Second Amendment, there written on paper, that guarantees the right to bear arms,” Obama said.

“No matter how many times people try to twist my words around, I taught constitutional law.

“I know a little bit about this.

“But I also believe that we can find ways to reduce gun violence consistent with the Second Amendment.”

  9. So the President makes a stand after Congress piddles.

Then the Congressmen decide to stand up and take a stand — against the leadership of the President.

Perhaps Congress should take the point and do proactive work to find a middle ground rather than lay in the weeds and react to genuine leadership.

Say what you want about the President, but he took a position – which the rest of Illinois’ wonks fail to do.

    Instead, they flap gums.
