First Church Nunda Food Distribution Resumes Friday

The Northern Illinois Food Bank truck unloads 3- 6 pallets of food each Friday at the Nunda Township Hall.

With Christmas and New Year’s both being on Friday, the First Methodist Church food distribution of products from the Northern Illinois Food Bank and Jewell held at the Nunda Township Hall was suspended for two weeks.

Tomorrow, however, rain, snow or shine, First Church is back in business.

Because of instructions from Nunda Township, vehicles are not allowed in the parking lot until 9 AM. (Tickets will be issued for trespassing by the Sheriff’s Office to those who park earlier is the word.)

In any event, if past supplies are any indication, there will be more bread than people want, two pieces of meat, some dry goods with emphasis of what stores couldn’t sell for Christmas and New Year’s, some dairy products (with milk going to families with children), lots of yogurt, a supply of vegetables and fruits, plus desserts aplenty.
