Dan Regna Schedules Thursday, January 21st, Fundraiser

The man who ran unsuccessfully for State’s Attorney eight years against incumbent Lou Bianchi expected a re-match.

Instead of Bianchi, Regna drew Assistant State’s Attorney Patrick Kenneally, who has successfully prosecuted five murder cases for “the people.”

Regna is holding a $50 fundraiser at d’Andrea’s Banquets next Thursday, January 21st.

  1. You can find out all about the workings of Regna here: http://www.mchenrycountysecrets.com

    The story is lengthy, but here are the guts of the story;

”In the meantime, (defense attorney Barbara) Cahn said, the prosecuting attorney withheld evidence – including cassette and videotapes of (Marquis) Barnes’ police interviews – in order to thwart the defense.

“She said prosecutor Daniel Regna lied to her, saying Barnes’ interviews were never taped.

“’We came to the trial date and, lo and behold, appears from out of the sky five hours of videotape, a 911 tape and a tape with a snitch talking to police,’ Cahn said.”

Turns out, the article continues, “she and Barnes noticed the tapes had been altered. With key testimony dubbed over or completely removed, including parts where Barnes denied having committed the crimes and where police refused him the right to talk to an attorney.”

  2. Getta – then the young man was acquitted.

The reason that Regna was involved in this case – Lake and McHenry Counties were in the same court district and the SA’s tried people in both counties.

  3. FYI that’s not the issue. READ!

  4. Dan Regna’s integrity is beyond reproach, a graduate of West Point, served honorably in hostile combat, held in high regard by many, a parent to his wife’s murdered sister’s son, he knows what prosecution is all about.

I am tired of Mr. Bianchi hand picking our elected officials, sheriff, judge, state’s attorney, many lesser folks, time for a change.

  5. Fred – you are all wet.

This guy is not what represents West Point.

  6. Gatta – just clarifying.

A friend called after reading your comment and wondered if this info was accurate because it was a Lake County case and Dan worked in McHenry County.

    DISHONESTY is the issue.

  7. No rush folks, these tickets aren’t exactly flying out the door.

Meeting and talking with Dan Regna has about the same appeal as stepping on a nail.

I expect the fine folks at D’Andrea’s will be able to accommodate this event in a broom closet.

  8. I would consider going if I wasn’t so afraid that all of the violent criminals and sex offenders he’s defended over the years would come to show their support….

ahhh who am I kidding, he didn’t win any of their cases, they’re probably all still doing time.

  9. If you liked Gary Pack, the worst State’s Attorney in McHenry County history, you will love Dan Regna, his loyal disciple.

  10. Better get your tickets real soon before they’re sold out. HA HA HA.

  11. This area is awash in law schools.

There are six of them located within the city limits of Chicago, and several others nearby.

Dan Regna chose to attend the Northern Illinois University College of Law, which US News ranks in the bottom quartile of the 200 or so law schools in this country.

That tells me something about him.

Any aspiring lawyer knows that where he goes to law school will have a great effect on his career prospects, and he will usually try to go to the best one that he can.

Dan Regna either didn’t have the grades/LSAT scores to go to one of the many more highly rated schools nearby, or else he didn’t care enough to try.

Either way, I don’t want him as my State’s Attorney.

  12. Oh, damn! I really wanted to go but I’ve already scheduled myself to paste my S & H greenstamps into their booklets that nite, plus I have to clean out the parakeet cage!

    Maybe next time.
