Lake County State’s Attorney, Mike Nerheim, and Boone County State’s Attorney, Michelle Courier, announced today they are endorsing Republican Patrick Kenneally for McHenry County State’s Attorney.
Republican Kenneally, delighted to receive the endorsement of the two, successful career prosecutors, responded:
“I am honored to have the endorsements of two of the most respected State’s Attorneys in Illinois. Mike and Michelle are model leaders whom I hope to emulate as McHenry County State’s Attorney.”
Mike Nerheim, the 2014 Illinois State Crime Commission State’s Attorney of the Year, was elected Lake County State’s Attorney in 2012.
Nerheim added, “ I’m proud to endorse Patrick for McHenry County State’s Attorney.
Patrick’s extensive experience as a prosecutor clearly qualifies him for the position and I have no doubt he will do a wonderful job serving the people of McHenry County.”
Michelle Courier, an aggressive prosecutor who took on gangs in Boone County, was elected State’s Attorney in 2008.
“Being an effective State’s Attorney requires years of experience,” said Courier.
“Patrick, who has done nearly every job in the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office over the past nine years, is clearly the best candidate.”
