Why Is Mike Madigan’s Name Missing from Jack Franks’ Latest Invitation?

In past Chicago fundraisers, Marengo Democratic State Rep. Jack Franks has proudly listed House Speaker Mike Madigan on his invitations.

Take a look at theĀ 2011 invitation, for instance:

Or 2012’s invitation:

Mike Madigan’s name is on the top of Jack Franks’ 2012 Chicago fundraising invitation.

Or the one in 2015:

Republican opponent charged that a vote for Jack Franks was a vote for Mike Madigan. Franks voted for Madigan for House Speaker and Madigan is chairing Franks' Chicago fundraiser.

Jack Frank’s Republican opponent Steve Reick charged that a vote for Jack Franks was a vote for Mike Madigan. Franks voted for Madigan for House Speaker and Madigan chaired Franks’ Chicago fundraiser.

But, this year, Mike Madigan’s name is missing from Jack Franks’ Chicago fundraising invitation.

Mike Madigan is missing from Jack Franks' Chicago fundraising invitation this year.

Mike Madigan is missing from Jack Franks’ Chicago 2016 fundraising invitation.

Maybe this is part of the reason:

This billboard stimulated the call from a Jack Franks staffer to Metra about Jack Schaffer's Metra pension.

Or maybe it was this sigh:

  1. Nothing more than a simple clerical oversite, I’m sure … LOL !

  2. It’s pretty clear that Jack Franks is a key to state Democrat power when Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart and Chicago Alderman Ed Burke are listed on his current Chicago fundraiser mailer.

And they plus House Speaker Michael J Madigan were listed on his previous Chicago fundraiser mailers.

The 63rd Representative District is in McHenry County.

Are there other State Representatives outside Cook County that have the Cook County Sheriff and one of the top Chicago Alderman power brokers at their campaign fundraiser?

How does Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart and Chicago Alderman Ed Burke benefit by helping Jack Franks?

    Lots of contributions from unions.

  3. Reick is going to lose.

The GOP won’t give him $$$ or support.

    Why?

Because there are races it would be better spent on.

    What’s the definition of insanity?

Running a candidate against Jack Franks.

  4. Jacko clearly doesn’t like to be tagged w/ his kindly puppet-master Madigan.

    Jacko is such a chameleon.

If Jacko told the truth … it’d be by accident!

  5. If Democrat State Representative Jack Franks of the 63rd District didn’t perceive a threat, the Democrat Jeffery Lichte would not be running as a Republican in the March 15, 2016 General Primary Election.

In the 2014 election, Jack Franks was recommended by the Illinois Education Association (IEA) teacher union, which is made up of more than 130,000 current and retired employees.

The recommendation is based on local interviews with candidates.

The Political Action Committee (PAC) for IEA is the Illinois Political Action Committee for Education (IPACE).

The IEA is one of the most powerful political forces in the state, arguably the most powerful.

The IEA lobbied for legislative pension benefit hikes to underfunded pensions, with underfunded teacher pensions being the single largest fiscal problem in the State of Illinois and one of the largest fiscal hurdles of any state in the United States.

In the 2014 election, Steven Reick was recommended by Taxpayers United of America.

There were undoubtedly other endorsements for the candidates, those are just the two that come to mind.

    98th General Assembly (2013 – 2014)
    99th General Assembly (2015 – 2016)

Summary: 9 terms, 18 years, as Democrat State Representative.

  6. Normally always vote (D).

I will not vote for Jack unless he states he will not vote for Madigan as speaker.

We need a change and it has to start there.

Like Jack but enough is enough.

If I don’t have a say in voting directly against Madigan in his district then this is my only recourse.

I also don’t think term limits are the answer for reps but should be used in roles such as speaker.
