Martin McLaughlin Rolls Out Barrington Twp GOP + Realtor PAC Endorsements

A press release from Martin McLaughlin, who is running for the nomination for State Senate to replace Dan Duffy:

REALTORS and Barrington Republicans Endorse McLaughlin

First Organizations to Evaluate All Three Candidates Choose McLaughlin

BARRINGTON HILLS, IL – The McLaughlin campaign announced today that Martin Mclaughlin has received the endorsements of the Illinois REALTORS Political Action Committee and the Barrington Township Republican Organization.

“I am honored to have received the support of these respected organizations. We have a difficult task ahead of us to fix our state, and it is encouraging to know that leaders are responding to my bold agenda. With my proven history of delivering conservative reform, I know I can go to Springfield and help Governor Rauner move Illinois forward,” said McLaughlin.

These two organizations were the first two organizations to formally evaluate the candidates for the 26th State Senate District and make an endorsement. All three candidates answered questions and spoke in front of the groups in an attempt to earn their support. In both cases, McLaughlin was endorsed.

The McLaughlin campaign continues to build momentum.

Today’s announced endorsements add to the growing list of leaders endorsing the proven reformer, including a number of local officials who announced their endorsements last week.

  1. Not surpprising, put these 3 candidates in the same room to speak or answer questions about fixing Illinois and Marty will come out on top each and every time.

No disrespect to D. McConchie or C. Urlacher, Marty McLaughlin is just that smart!

For those who have not heard Marty speak on issues confronting our State, you have the opportunity tonight at the MCC forum.

I promise, you will not be disappointed.

  2. After tonight’s McHenry County League of Women Voter’s candidates forum, it is not a surprise that McLaughlin continues to receive many key endorsements for State Senate in the 26th district.

His bold, fresh and optimistic outlook will bring Illinois back from bankruptcy.

His broad, and bold agenda along with an impressive and comprehensive knowledge of money management is the key to unlock the stalemate that exists in Springfield.

There is no exception where terms limits are concerned.

McConchie is wrong on this point, only a true politician, and closet lobbyist would make such a comment.

Fresh legislators are what the state needs to clear the smong from the halls of government.

Marty McLaughlin will heal and restore Illinois to fiscal health I have no doubt.

  3. I normally detest politicans, and political forums.

However I must say that tonight’s debate separated the men from the boys!.

McConchie is a nice enough guy to have a cup of coffee with, but I’m not sure how effective he’d be as a state senator.

Watching McLaughlin speak, he has an undeniable air of certainty and confidence that has long been absent in government and when speaking about our broken system in Springfield.

I am inspired by his optimism and his refusal to accept the status quo.

I think that he could be the one to break the stalemate in Springfield, but it won’t be easy. Madigan and Cullerton won’t put out the welcome mst!

But, I like his Irish swagger, and smarts, and I do think a regular guy could turn things around.

    He’s got my vote!

  4. Urlacher was a no show. So he’s automatically out in my book.

I liked McConchie and McLaughlin very much.

    They are both great.

  5. Both candidates did well in the LWV Forum on Thursday night, but McLaughlin demonstrated a better depth of knowledge and actual experience in solving budget problems. McLaughlin also said he would reject accepting a state pension or the state medical plan. Thank you!!

I was also confused by McConchie’s professional experience in “public policy”.

What on earth does that mean?

I checked his Daily Herald candidate profile and it says “Occupation: candidate did not respond.” Education: MA in Christian Thought and BA in Biblical Studies

That sort of resume seems sort of thin for someone hoping to solve the fiscal crisis and tackle our state’s pension woes.

He seems like a nice enough guy though.

Also, McConchie waffled on asked if he supports term limits and said they weren’t necessarily bad, while McLaughlin said he would support term limit of ten years.
