Skillicorn Picks $21,000 in TV from Proft PAC — 23 Comments

  1. Using other people’s money places anyone running for office under the control of the source. Just look at what it has done to D.C.

    Vote for Paul Serwatka.

  2. You think Paul has not taken money from anyone else???

    Think again.

He does not have the knowledge, education or experience to do the job.

Being able to talk and talk gets nowhere.

  3. Serwatka has put more of his own money up than all of his three opponents combined.

While Paul has taken 10% of his funds from a local businessman with NO special interests, all three opponents are substantially financed by politicians, PAC money, developers and law firms.

Paul is clearly the only one “Unbought/Unowned”.

  4. Back at you – In your allegiance to Dan Wilbrandt you exude a very distorted and frightening understanding of representative government.

Suggesting that being a lawyer makes someone the best qualified for a position in representative government is frightening.

  5. Serwatka is great when he is in a room of people that are all of the same mindset.

Get him in a conversation with people that are not 100% on board with his meandering philosophies and he cannot handle it.

The guy would be Springfeild’s Joe Walsh, but worse… Great for people that think the person that yells the loudest is somehow accomplishing something.

He’s already alienated 99% of the Republicans in Springfield who’s eye ligaments are already strained by the behaviors of McWeeny.

We need people in Springfield who can understand compromise, which will be a major require!ent of the job, given the makeup of the house.

  6. If Dan Proft is backing Skillicorn, he has been properly vetted by professional conservative activist.

  7. Politicians who use their own money like Trump, Bloomberg and Rauner have too much control over things.

We can see how Bruce is using money to bribe repubs and some dems to push his agenda. We don’t even need elections if they can be bought by the rich.

Every office should be won getting small donations like Bernie Sanders because then their allegiance is to the people.

  8. If Bernie can do it the other politicians can do it but they like the status quo because whatever they promise they do what the rich and well connected want and that is not democracy.

  9. @AngryHuman “We need people in Springfield who can understand compromise…”

    Really?

That is the problem in Springfield?

Paul Serwatka is the right choice.

    He is a real conservative.

We do not need more compromising legislators such as Barb Wheeler who used to be conservative when she was with Randy Donley.

Unfortunately, her new Springfield “pals” are part of the problem.

We need legislators who will compromise less and stand up for conservative values more.

Barb Wheeler does not enough compromising already.

We do need anymore compromisers in Springfield.

  10. Karma, news flash! US is a republic not a democracy.

You must be from the era when Pledge of Allegiance was removed from schools. ” . . . to the republic for which it stands . . . ” not democracy.

I will not frighten you with the rest because it says in part, “one nation under God”!

Now Bernie, he is a socialist by admission which is also not a democracy, nor is it a republic.

By the way Karma, Presidents do not make his or hers allegiance to the people but to the US Constitution.

The job of a President is to uphold the Constitution through executory authority.

“Executory” means enforcement ie to execute.

  11. @Karma, Don’t think that George Sorros, Mike Madigan, Rahm, Daley family, Cullerton, Unions and the list goes on and on in the Democratic Party about buying people running for office.

Why is it that people get so pissed off about people that are rich?

You need to understand one thing they will always be rich!

Some built up something from the ground up and became Millionaires and Billionaires!

Hard work, sleepless nights, for months and years.

Now just because you don’t have the same drive as them don’t punish them because they are rich!

Yes others are born with a silver spoon in there mouth.

Whether I like it or not there going to probably stay rich.

They can give to whoever they want to support.

Trump and I am not necessarily supporting him, had to give money to the unions, city officials etc. because they were not going to let him do anything without doing that and to get things accomplished in N.Y.

It is the same in Chicago as well.

    Is it right?

    Nope!

but understand thats what happens in union areas.

Trump created jobs for that city so he is the bad guy because he is rich.

Bernie Sanders is for Socialism and that is not what this country is about.

It is about if you work hard you will succeed but working hard seems to have gone by the wayside and it is just about each individual and what they can get for not doing anything!

  12. @angryhuman: You are 100% correct that Paul does well with and among like minded people — But when you disagree and/or challenge his position or opinion, wow, watch out.

  13. @informedvoter… No need to check your diaper because it all just flowed from your fingertips.

There are lots of conservatives, Wheeler being one of them, in Springfield…

But- quick civics lesson- THE REPUBLICANS IN SPRINGFIELD ARE IN THE SUPERMINORITY.

This means the only way ANYTHING on their agenda gets through is by compromise.

Serwatka is a rabid idealist, with no record other than alienating people that are not 100% in agreement with him.

Now wipe the drool off your keyboard and fire some other Joe Walshian ridiculousness at me.

  14. Karma, per usual you got it wrong.

Your hero, Oreo Obama, killed public financing of elections forever (to date, his only positive accomplishment).

There will never be another major party candidate who elects public financing.

  15. No wonder we have the governments we do!

The voter attitudes and level of knowledge displayed above says it all!!

    Proft a conservative?

    The statement:

“If Dan Proft is backing Skillicorn, he has been properly vetted by professional conservative activist.”

has to come from someone who has no idea who Dan Proft and Skillicorn are and what they represent.

While the three guys slug it out, the dimwitted (my opinion) woman backed by dimwitted Republican voters will win.

  16. Angry human and Lakewood – you are 150% correct.

    Disagree and he blows up.

Not what we need in Springfield.

People will not listen to that and will walk away.

  17. Generally, it’s more impressive for a candidate to raise money than to try to buy the election with his own money.

  18. @Informed Voter Wheeler has a 100% conservative voting record two years running.

How is this “used to be a conservative”.

How do you get better than 100% rated by a conservative organization?

How could she have voted better?

    http://votesmart.org/interest-group/1481/rating/8589#.VrQdqFgrJhE

It is frustrating when a politician like Wheeler delivers to conservative voters and somehow it is still not enough and they call her a RINO or “used to be a conservative”

  19. I agree, Boethius.

It is definitely better for a candidate to be able to raise their own campagin money from supporters and the voters themselves.

That is much better than getting enormous donations from special interest groups with their own agenda or a rich person using their own affluence to buy their place in the race.

Dan Wilbrandt seems to be the only candidate with a grassroots campaign who is actually backed by the people.

  20. Questioning:

    Do your homework.

Dan Proft has a record as an effective conservative going back to college.

He has been a solid fundraiser for conservative Republicans and runs a conservative think tank.

He is a strong, articulate spokesman for conservative positions on his daily radio show.

When he was Chief of Staff in Chicago Heights, he was instrumental in getting rid of dozens of Democrat city employees, improving city services, and balancing a city budget that hadn’t been balanced in eight years, without raising taxes.

  21. I agree, Boethius.

It is definitely better for a candidate to be able to raise their own campaign money from supporters and the voters themselves.
