At the end of the parade was this group of Environmental Defenders of McHenry County.

Woodstock, IL – The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County is in need of more volunteers to help out with two of their committees and with monthly recycling drives.

One of the committees – The Transportation Committee is in the process of forming, so this is an excellent time to “hop aboard.” This committee is in need of members and chair and/or co-chairs.

The Water & Natural Resources Protection Committee, an existing committee, is looking for new members who are interested in volunteering their time on water resource issues in the county as well as natural resource preservation efforts.

Our monthly recycling drives prove to be a very important resource for our communities as residents strive to dispose of items in an ethical way. The drives, held the second Saturday of each month, alternatively in Woodstock and McHenry, depends solely on volunteers and is in need of those in good physical condition to move items from patrons’ vehicles.

If you are interested in volunteering your time toward these efforts, please contact our office at 815-338-0393 or by emailing envirodefmc@gmail.com. The Environmental Defenders looks forward to continuing to serve the community by advocating for a healthy environment through our committee Founded in 1970, The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County is a non-profit, volunteer driven, membership organization dedicated to the preservation and protection of the environment in McHenry
