Independent Committee Sends Senatorial Candidate Comparison Piece

A newly-formed committee called the “Committee for Bold Leadership in Illinois” popped up on February 8th.

It was formed by former Barrington Hills resident Jonathan Knight. He served briefly as a Republican Precinct Committeeman in Algonquin Township near Haegers Bend.

The piece compares the three candidates to replace Dan Duffy in the State Senate.

The direct mail is clearly in support of Barrington Hills Village President Martin McLaughlin’s candidacy.

One can tell by the larger type used under McLaughlin’s photo, plus by the what is written under the pictures of Dan McConchie and Casey Urlacher.

The address side of the mailing from the McLaughlin mailing from the Committee for Bold Leadership identifies Dan McConchie as a "lobbyist" and says his financiers are "insiders who have spent over half a million dollars in 2016 to elect Chicago Democrats."
