Turnberry Lakes Club Plans Meeting

From a privately funded group incorporated under the name Turnberry Lakes Club or “TLC”:

We’re stepping up a resident-lead initiative that’s been referred to by village management as the best of a public/private partnership to beautify the village owned lots on our shoreline in Turnberry.

Members of Turnberry Lakes Club have voiced their opinions about how they would like to see last years donations used.

In addition to a fish stocking including all four lakes, we will begin a multi-phase project to renovate the Village-owned lots on Lake #1 directly off Turnberry Trail and in front of the country club.

Phase 1 “area 2 on drawings below” includes clearing the underbrush, affording better access to the lake shore and the addition of seating and a variety of perennials.

Subsequent phases will add more useable space for Turnberry residents.

Please join us for our second quarter meeting on Sunday, April 24th from 3 – 5 pm at Turnberry Country Club.

May kicks off our annual fundraising campaign to fund these additional projects and improvements, stay tuned for more. Below are some renderings of the project.

Learn more at our meeting, or email us at any time. We encourage input from all residents please.

We thank you in advance for your consideration of becoming (or continuing to be) a donor member of Turnberry Lakes Club.

We are excited moving forward with full Village Board support for this project being recognized by Village Management as “the best of a public-private relationship.”

Donation forms available at the April 24th meeting.

  1. I wonder if they’ll have to pay prevailing wage for the work on the village owned lots?

That would get expensive really fast.

  2. Does “moving forward with Village Board support” mean our property taxes are being spent on this?

  3. This is funded entirely by residents, including myself, who have voluntarily elected to contribute to the TLC.

Not paying Prevailing Wage rates is just one of the benefits of resident lead initiatives such as this, versus creating an SSA, which becomes yet another taxing body, controlled by government, which is in turn forced to pay Prevailing Wage rates.

Just anonther example of the effectiveness and efficiency of people who take initiative and responsibility for themselves rather than relying on government intervention.
