I was looking for some notice on the McHenry County Democratic Party web site for the two candidate slating meetings last weekend and found this invitation to District 1 County Board candidate Kerri Barber.
There was no notice on the events page for the caucuses.

The Barber fundraiser was held last Wednesday at Grover’s Grill & Bar in Fox River Grove.
What I copied showed that one person had RSVPed.
A drinking game themed fundraiser. Juvenile trash.

These themes are meant to be “clever”.
Don’t single out one, when most are similar themes.
Whether it’s clever horse racing (gambling) themes, the bikini (pool party) themes, it doesn’t mean the event is juvenile drinking games.
Watching Cal’s photo ops of many events over the years, they appear to be a mix of people, of many age groups, drinking pop, water, beer, wine, just chatting together. (Unless someone can provide otherwise)
I would not pick out one specific candidate’s theme over all the others.
After all, there’s the infamous annual Miller wine and cheese party 🙂

There’s a distinct difference in class as it pertains to Beer Pong vs Wine and Cheese.
The fact that people are still talking about Barb Wheeler’s bikini party shows that it was fun and effective.
Just saying…
But beer pong?
That may be even more fun.
