Fox River Boat Crash Kills Man

Sheriff’s Office Investigates Fatal Boat Crash

A 67-year-old Port Barrington man is deceased after a boat crash Friday evening on the Fox Sheriff’s Marine Deputies responded at 3:01 p.m. to a single vessel boat crash in the 200 block of River Road, Trout Valley, Illinois.

The boat had crashed, bow first, into a concrete pier and concrete post.

The male, who was the sole occupant of the boat, was thrown into the water.

Two citizens rescued him from the water and were giving him CPR when deputies and fire personnel arrived.

The Cary Fire Protection District transported the male to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. There were no signs of foul play and impairment due to drugs or alcohol does not appear to have been a factor.

The investigation is being conducted by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
