Just a reminder that the First Methodist Church of Crystal Lake facilitates the distribution of food at the Nunda Township Hall each Friday morning.

Where the Nunda Township Hall is located.

It comes directly from the Jewel Stores in Crystal Lake and Woodstock, plus in a truck from the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

The truck has arrived as early as 9:30 and as late as after 11.

There are two or three tables for meat. Note the boxes underneath that have not been unpacked.

The order of selection of the meat, dry goods, bread. dairy, vegetables, fruits and sweet stuff is random.

After the dairy tables come the vegetables. These were supplemented by veggies grown behind the Nunda Township Hall by a team of Master Gardeners.

Sign-up sheet numbers are drawn from a little box to determine who goes when.

Almost always there is enough desserts that people can get some on a second trip through the line.

Soon the garden behind and above the Nunda Township Hall will be yielding fresh vegetables.

Fruit is provided each week. We are moving into cherry season.

Saturday with similar line-up rules, First Church will be hosting a Northern Illinois Food Bank truck from 3:30-5:30.

A free meal will be served starting at 2:30 in the basement of the church.

First Church is located at the corner of Dole and West Crystal Lake Avenues.

Both streets intersect with Route 14 (Virginia Street) at a traffic light.
