Crystal Lake Ill. – McHenry County Animal Control and Adoption Center (MCAC) will participate in “Clear the Shelters” Day on Saturday, July 23, waiving adoption fees for all adoptable, cats and dogs over the 6 months of age from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

MCAC joins over 400 shelters across the Country and 20 throughout Chicagoland in this national event.

“Our goal is finding homes for all of our animals, so not only is there not an adoption fee, but adopted pets go to new owners already spayed or neutered, micro chipped, treated for parasites, fleas and ticks and vaccinated with age appropriate vaccines, including the rabies shot,“

said Maryellen Howell, Manager of McHenry County Animal Control & Adoption Center.

In 2015 “Clear the Shelters Day” led to over 19,000 pets going home with new families. McHenry County Animal Control successfully found homes for 22 animals, joining the shelters across the country that completely “cleared the shelter”. The national goal this year for “Clear the Shelters Day” is to find homes for 20,000 furry friends. MCAC hopes you will help them clear their shelter again this year!
