Preliminary investigation indicates the girl overheard conversations about going to her Grandma’s house for dinner. The girl went outside and climbed into the car without anyone’s knowledge.
The family began looking for the girl approximately 15-20 minutes later and found her in the car unresponsive.
The mother immediately removed her from the car and called 911.
Fire District personnel transported the girl to Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center McHenry. Medical staff continued treating the girl and transferred her to Lutheran General Hospital for further treatment.
At this time the incident is under investigation and the family is cooperating.
Information will be updated as appropriate.
Praying she’ll be alright. Tragic.
