Franks Makes It Through Convention Week without NWH Revealing He Was a Hillary Clinton Delegate

Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton

Maybe I missed a story earlier, but the one I read that was run by the Northwest Herald after Hillary Clinton was named the Democrats’ Presidential candidate did not mention that McHenry County’s own State Rep. Jack Franks was a Delegate for Clinton.

Instead it quoted two women Democrats, both ex-members of the McHenry County Board–Paul Yensen and Kathy Bergan Schmitt–about how great it is to have a woman running for President.

Not a word about Franks having spent the week in Philadelphia supporting Clinton.

Franks Makes It Through Convention Week without NWH Revealing He Was a Hillary Clinton Delegate — 40 Comments

  1. Sometimes it’s hard to tell who puckers up more, Jack or the NWH.

  2. If they’d run a story, some folks would complain about the blue Herald running another publicity piece for the Democrats.

I’m tired of listening to partisans complaining about the unfair treatment by “the media.”

I just read such a complaint by bluenationreview.com (press unfair to Clinton) and I hear it from Rush Limbaugh (press unfair to Trump).

Note each complainant IS part of the media of which they complain.

Can the majority of people detect bias in the media?

Do they know which party their news sources tend to favor?

Franks Asks County for 2 Advisory Referendums

    June 6, 2014

    by Kevin P Craver

Report Kevin Craver quoted 63rd District State Representative Jack Franks as saying the following:

“‘What I’m trying to do is reduce our property taxes in McHenry County and make it livable so people don’t leave,’ Franks said.

‘I can promise you I am not running county chairman in 2016.

This has nothing to do with me.

    This is about good government.’

  4. In the 2004 General Primary election, Jack D Franks was elected as a delegate (8th Democratic Delegate) to the 2004 Democrat National Convention, with 5,481 votes.

In the 2008 General Primary election, Jack D Franks was elected as a delegate (16th Democratic Delegate affiliated with Hillary Clinton) to the 2008 Democrat National Convention, with 25,229 votes.

  5. …it would seem Walkup didn’t attend the GOP convention.

    That’s a bigger story.

How dedicated is he to the party’s goals?

  6. You must be kidding.

    Jack Franks was a delegate.

    Mike Walkup was not.

  7. Not sure you got all the votes from all the counties in the district in 2004.

Franks was also a Clinton delegate in 2008.

  8. Moderate,

You are clueless on so many issues..

Walkup not being a delegate to the Republican convention is a big storyline?

    Dude, get a grip.

You are just making stuff up.

Following your “logic” that would apply to your patronage recipient Bartman, or one of the army of candidates you have had for SA.

They must not be dedicated to your party’s goals.

  9. They say birds of a feather flock together, and so we must judge Lying Jack Franks the DEMOCRAT by who he supports for the highest office in the land.

Lets take a looks and the witch and a few of her notable quotes and ask ourselves what’s really wrong with Lying Jack Franks.

    1) “Where is the God damn flag?
I want the God damn f******g flag up every morning at f*****g sunrise”.
Hillary to staff at the Arkansas Governor’s mansion on Labor Day, 1991.
From the book “Inside the White House” by Ronald Kessler, p. 244

    (2) “F**k off! It’s enough I have to
see you shit-kickers every day! I’m
not going to talk to you, too!
Just do your Goddamn job and keep your mouth shut.”
Hillary to her State Trooper bodyguards after one of them greeted her with “Good Morning.”
From the book “America Evita” by Christopher Anderson, p.90

    (3) “If you want to remain on this detail, get your f*****g ass over
    here and grab those bags!”

because he wanted to keep his hands free in case of an incident.
    From the book
    “The First Partner” pg. 25.

    (4) “Stay the f**k back, stay the f**k back away from me! Don’t come within ten yards of me, or else! Just f*****g do as I say, Okay!!?”

    Secret Service Agent-in-Charge, p.139

    (5) “Where’s the miserable c**k sucker?” (otherwise known as

pilot to turn back while en route to
    Air Force One.
From the book ” Dereliction of Duty”
    p. 71-72

    (8) “Come on Bill, put your d***up! You can’t f**k her here!!”
Hillary to Gov. Bill Clinton when she spots him talking with an attractive female.
From the book “Inside the White House” by Ronald Kessler, p. 243

Come on now Lying Jack tell us you support her cause she’s so well spoken and kind.

  10. I can’t believe the last post was posted.

Posts like this should not be allowed and Cal I’m really disappointed to read this.

  11. Franks is the CAREER politician
    Running around getting endorsements,
    campaign money, making egotistical
Statements to the Herald & getting media ops for all he is worth right now.

    That’s what State & National
    POLITICIANS DO.

The County Chairman race is about
    LOCAL issues.

Why would Mike Walkup get caught
Up in state & national politics ?

Mike W has his eyes perfectly focused
On what is important, Mchenry County !

  12. I’m a little flummoxed that Mark is allowed to continue posting the same exact thing over and over again.

If I try to do that in a single blog post, the website says, “You already posted that,” and won’t allow me to post again.

Yet he literally says the same two things over and over again and that’s ok….

  13. Also, pretty crazy that you can post vulgar things like what Fierbras.
    T
    his comment section needs reform.

I vote we need to use our facebook credentials or real names because the discourse on this blog is toxic.

  14. Well the discourse on Hillary was abit
Over the top, but obviously upsetting to
The people who feel the need to vote
For her & don’t want to know more truth.

For instance, how about the fact that 6/six
Of Bill & Hillary’s secret service people
Just happened to be dead (one way or
    Another) hmm ?

  15. As always Mark, interesting info .

    Your informational style seems
too subtle for some people to process
    & recognize it’s value.

    Again, thank you 🙂

  16. Cal, How did Franks become a delegate for Witch Killary when Commissar Bernie creamed her in the county?

She only won a handful of pcts.

  17. Please send me a screen shot of the “You already posted that.”

  18. This thread sure went sour. I’m no fan of Mike Walkup, but why would it matter to his competence as candidate for county board chair whether he went to a national party convention, whether as delegate, protestor, or disguised as Triumph, the insult comic dog?

  19. As a counter positive why would it matter if Franks was?
Honestly, I don’t care if either of them go to a comicon or party convention.

  20. Moderate,
It matters that Franks was a Hillary delegate because it shows he is just a career politician, sucking up to the party leaders. Jackie boy claims to be more independent and beholding to no one, but he voted to put Madigan in as speaker 9 out of 9 times. Madigan has done Patronage Jack’s fundraising. Patronage Jack begged for and got patronage jobs from his buddy disgraced gov. Blagojevich. He was a delegate for Hillary.

That is not the record of someone who claims to be independent. He is beholding to all of them.

THAT is why it makes a difference. Just another example of his speech and his actions being incongruent. The more we shine a light on who he really is, the more voters know the truth about him.

  21. In direct contradiction to those delusionary few who still insist that “The NW Herald Is Not A Liberal Democrat Organ”…

  22. John,

I constantly hear you cajoling Franks over these really niche issues that wouldn’t generate pull with a General Election voter.

I would venture to bet that if you asked voters what is driving them to the polls this year, it won’t be based on who is voting for Mike Madigan or any of the niche points you make.

That’s the thing you radical republicans don’t seem to get:

There are the issues you care about politically, but then there is the reality:

people care about taxes, education, roads and good public services.

  23. So what exactly has Patronage Jack done on any of those issues?

    Nothing.

Not a thing in 18 years in office.

I guess to you, that is not a problem.

    That is the point.

If you think that is radical, or that it is radical to expect elected leaders to do what they say and not just take of their family and friends, you are missing the point of what is happening today.

You can ignore it all you want, but on Patronage Jack’s 18 year watch, we became the 29th highest taxed county in the nation and the highest taxed state in the union.

He supported Madigan and the liberal majority all the way.

    He IS the problem.

You even made the point that taxes are a huge issue and you blindly ignore his role in the constant tax increases.

You absolve him of responsibility. You enable the process that got us here, then you call the issues “niche” issues.

    You really are clueless

  24. Ok, John, you sound pretty confident.

Put your money where your mouth is.

    2:1 odds Franks beats Walkup.

    I’ll bet you $100.

    C’mon John.

    Your surname means “bright counsel.”

How bright do you think you are?

  25. Moderate,

you need to attend a gambling 12 step program.

    Grow up.

One would think that my ignoring your gambling whining for all this time you would realize that I am not going to play your little game.

Find something more productive to do than gamble. Volunteer at a shelter.

Drive a school bus for free to help poor children.

    Work a soup kitchen.

    Work a food pantry.

Try anything to take your mind off what appears to be a gambling addiction.

  26. Moderate,

Can you give us a list of Patronage Jack’s top 5 accomplishments over his 18 years?

Getting patronage jobs for friends and family does not count.

    We want to see results.

    Where has he reduced taxes!

    And by how much?

What results has he attained to improve education?

Increasing pensions and common core do not count.

Roads and services don’t count unless his accomplishment was to improve them With no tax increase or better yet with a tax reduction.

You said that is what the voters want, so where are those accomplishments?

Certainly, since you support Patronage Jack, you must have that list at your fingertips.

Don’t send us to some website.

Put it here for us all to see.

  27. There is the casino boat in Elgin,
    Moderate NOT, you could move
    Closer.

    Take Jack Franks with you.

The Elgin area would suit you both
    Better than Mchenry County.

  28. Guys don’t fret about old Moderate ….. that marriage thing is his lifestyle choice …. queer is as queer does.

  29. Just answer the questions.

Don’t need nor want your matchmaking efforts.

Just enlighten us about Patronage Jack’s accomplishments.

You have a very consistent habit of changing the subject when you don’t have a sound, logical answer to a question..

    Experienced negotiators recognize such things.

Yoy are an unabashed supporter of his.

As such, his accomplishments should be tip of the tongue for you.

There should be no need for research.

You should look at this as an opportunity to tell the world about all of his results that generated lower taxes.

You all claim he is the tax fighter for the citizens of McHenry County.

    Brag a little…

  30. Sorry John, I just have a life and a job so I can’t spend all day on a blog.

    Im not your monkey.

    Do your own research.

  31. Moderate,

    No need to get upset.

Just reacting to YOUR comment, and I quote you,
“People care about taxes, education, roads and good public services.”

You support Franks, so you must have evidence that states he has accomplishments in these areas.

Listing his accomplishments should not require research.

If you support him for what he does, and you believe what YOU said people care about, this info should be tip of the tongue available.

If you need to do research, one could conclude that it is difficult to find any of Patronage Jack’s accomplishments.

If Franks has done so much, this is YOUR opportunity to share it with everyone on this blog.

I would think you would jump at that chance.

Me, I just look at my tax bill and watch it go up year after year.

I have also observed his lack of follow though on his promises.

That is all the research I need.

If you do not have evidence of his accomplishments it is no surprise.

Funny that you have the time to misuse this blog by matchmaking, commenting on my employment status, and soliciting bets on the blog, but not the time to list your candidate’s accomplishments.

Lastly, as with almost all of your comments, you are wrong about my employment status.

    I am not unemployed.

I am a retired senior level executive.

My situation allows me to have a life and do what I want, when, where, and how I choose.

So you can stop those childish, uninformed comments too.

It might give you back some time to share your candidates accomplishments, if you can find any.

  32. Hey John,

Look I found things Walkup has done.

He stopped the $100 Million boondoggle continuous flow intersection improvement at Algonquin and Randall.

He also spearheaded reforms at the Mental Health Board which was wasting tax dollars.

And as a liaison to the nursing home board, he advanced proposals to stop further additions to its $40 Million surplus fund.

He also helped stop the purchase of an empty factory building for salt storage, saving $5 Million.

    Wow!

    That was super easy!

    Researching is so easy!

Maybe you can at least try doing it given all this free time you have because I think I’ve said more in this single post about Walkup than you have in your entire blog posting career!

  33. Moderate,

Regarding Walkup, you neglected to state he was instrumental in actually reducing the taxes charged by the County.

He has more tax reduction accomplishments than Patronage Jack, because Jack has $0.

Thanks for helping me make that point.

So we can take your lack of response about Patronage Jack to mean that you can’t find any real accomplishments of his.

    That is to be expected.

As we walk our precincts we can say that even Jack’s supporters, when asked multiple times on the blog, can’t name a single accomplishment of Patronage Jack.

    Thanks for your input.

    You provided excellent talking points.

BTW, this blog is not the only outlet that I communicate my support for candidates.

  34. You are so right John.

How did you that’s exactly what I was doing with my lack of response to you query about Franks’ accomplishments?

You light up the world with your intuitiveness and reasoning skills – what would we do without you?!
