The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District will again ask voter permission to raise taxes this year, but its referendum failed.

ALGONQUIN-LAKE IN THE HILLS FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
Shall the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District, Kane and McHenry Counties, Illinois, be authorized to levy a new tax for emergency and rescue crews and equipment purposes and have an additional tax of .10% of the equalized assessed value of the taxable property therein extended for such purposes?
That’s ten cents per $100 of assessed valuation.

There is no end to tax hikes as everyone is asking for an increase.

Property owners in the Algonquin Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District have that district listed on their property tax bill.
The Property Tax Lookup / Property Search feature on the McHenry County Treasurer’s website includes a Taxing Bodies view that indicates the taxing district, tax rate, and tax extension for a specific address.
