Last Wednesday night, the Grafton Township Republican Central Committee voted to hold a primary election next February to select candidates who will represent the part in April, according to Township Republican Chairman Jeff Thorsen.

Not many people vote in a primary election for township office, but there is more participation than there would be in a party caucus.

Algonquin and Nunda Townships’ Republican Parties have also opted for primary elections.

  1. If Kearns didn’t run in the R primary, does that mean he is a Democrat?

  2. Kearns is remodeling a farm on Harmony Road in Coral Township, unincorporated Huntley.

He won’t be a resident of Grafton for the next election.
    Kearns calls himself an Independent.

His biggest claim to fame is staying out of the paper and out of the township office while being paid $40,ooo a year for the job.

  3. I’m so excited to see this Al guy outta here.

He said he would help the people here at the Lakes of Boulder Ridge and my taxes went from 6900 to 8900 to 10000 to 13000.

So much for his background as being an appraiser. .. another poor lady bought a home and her assessment ended with $18,000 in taxes for a duplex…

he clearly doesn’t know what he is doing…
