Two-term Lakewood Village President Erin Smith told me yesterday at the Turnberry Park dedication that she was not running for re-election.
She has a new job with a company that has offices in Spokane, the Far East, not to mention Chicago and other locations.
Smith is continuing in her human resources work, but needed travel is making it more difficult to make village board meetings.
Smith expressed pleasure at having been fortunate enough to serve the people of Lakewood and being able to meet so many she had not previously know, despite her having lived most of her life in the older part and, then, Turnberry.
“serve the people?” She ‘served’ her OWN SELF INTERESTS.
Good riddance, Lady!
Serwatka starts shining the spotlight and the roaches scatter.
Keep the light on Paul!
There are still some roaches left.
Now if King Aaron would only join Queen Erin somewhere in the Far East!
You knew this was coming as soon as President Petersen left.
The good lord is looking down on Lakewood.
We rid ourselves of Peterson. and now Smith? In the same year?
Brighter days are ahead for citizens of Lakewood.

Indeed. The song ‘Happy Days are Here Again’ comes to mind.
Goodbye McHenry County’s own ‘Hillary Clinton’.
Don’t come back now, ya hear!!!
