I wanted to let everyone know the “Lakewood Tax-Fighter & Better Government Project“ website is up and running!!

There may still be a few bugs, but, we’ll work them out as we go…

I urge you to visit the site at: www.LakewoodTaxFighter.com for some important tools and information moving forward.

We will strategically add to the site as we move forward in our Mission, (see“The Mission” page for details) but there are a few things I want to be sure to call to your attention…

1. The HOME page contains a link to an informative flyer of our Official Property Tax Advisory Referendum that will appear on this November’s General Election Ballot!

The flyer can be printed/copied and distributed to other Lakewood residentswho may not be aware that this important referendum will be on the ballot this November. We need to pass this referendum with STRONG numbers! and I need YOUR help to get it done!

2. There are 4 Survey Questions also located on the home page. The results of which will be electronically tabulated and presented to our village board for public discussion!

While these surveys are not official referenda, they will serve as another opportunity to collectively make our voices heard on important issues we currently face – and to send a strong and concerted message that cannot go ignored.

I hope you will take this opportunity to again make your voice heard by taking part in these surveys – and please be sure to encourage your Lakewood friends and neighbors to take part in them as well!

We will also be conducting new surveys, as we move forward.

3. For those who have supported my efforts this far and support the mission moving forward, I hope you will take a minute to leave a testimonial/message of support on the TESTIMONIALS page. Your words of encouragement mean more than you know!

For those who are not as aware of our efforts this far, I hope you’ll take a minute to see for yourself what others have to say, and continue to say, as we move forward.

4. There is also a page that allows contributions to be made. To date, I have personally spent several thousand dollars toward our Mission to restore accountable village government and lower property tax burdens for Lakewood families…

I have also begun to contribute my village trustee salary to the Mission, as well.

As we move forward with the Mission, particularly, our Property Tax Referendum and our upcoming Municipal Election, this April 2017,  we will need to raise several thousand dollars more.

I hope you will consider supporting the mission in any way you can.

The four questions on Serwatka’s survey are

1. Should our village board spend MILLIONS of OUR tax dollars on a new village hall without allowing residents to vote on it?
2. Do you feel this village board demonstrates good decision-making – based on the best interests of residents?
3. Do you feel our current village board is Open, Honest & Transparent?
4. Our village board has obligated residents, collectively, to pay additional property taxes of nearly $9000 PER YEAR/PER CHILD – to Woodstock School Dist-200 – for potentially hundreds of children residing in any homes that may be built within the recently established TIF District near Rte 47 & Rte 176. This is potentially an enormous property tax hike awaiting ALL Lakewood residents.
